Fibroids, also known as leiomyomas, are noncancerous growths that develop within and around the uterine wall, often emerging during childbearing years. Although generally benign, fibroids can lead to symptoms such as pain, vaginal bleeding, heavy periods, pelvic pressure, painful intercourse, urinary and bowel obstruction, and reproductive challenges in certain women.
