Coastal Bend Women’s Center is very excited about the possibilities in the New Year. We have been working very hard to make our practice a more connected, professional and streamlined practice for our patients, providers, staff and referring providers. Some of the things that we implemented in 2017 was the automation of our appointment reminder system, upgraded ultrasound equipment and the ability to email the ultrasound pictures to our patients, and our patient portal that allows us to communicate securely with our patients. Some of these enhancements cost money but ultimately it allows our employees more time to dedicate to the actual care of our patients. We launched our website and have been active on our new Facebook page.
In 2018, we look forward to utilizing other technologies this year to make this practice more efficient for our patients and staff. One exciting technology that we hope to launch this year is the automated patient check in. Just think, you can check in, pay your copay or balance from your phone before you leave home so when you arrive we can be ready to receive you, copy your insurance card, and bring you back to start your visit when you arrive at our office.
There have been a great deal of health insurance changes for a lot of the local businesses in 2018. We have instructed our staff that we need to get a copy of the insurance cards at each visit so we can make the necessary changes to your account. Our business office staff are very happy to discuss any changes with you at your visit or on the phone. As a business, we had to make the tough choice to discontinue as preferred providers for the Christus Health Exchange insurance program effective 2-1-2018. We will review this decision with the plan representatives in the third quarter of 2018. Come prepared to present your new insurance card at the time of your visit.

We appreciate our patients and have found the best staff to allow our physicians and nurse practitioners to provide the best care for our patients now and into the future.
